Ventura County Seal Design

Ventura County Seal Design

In an open call to redesign the Ventura County Seal, there were 79 submissions. In a public survey 15,000+ people voted; their favorite was then recommended and approved by the Board of Supervisors.

The iconic Arch Rock off Anacapa Island is a unifying image of the beauty of Ventura County, past and present. I illustrated a vibrant sunset and included a gull to represent wildlife on the Channel Islands.

Proclamation Design

Proclamation Design

I designed a formal, ornamental proclamation using the new seal and embellishing it with oak branches, native to Ventura County, and a celebratory ribbon. Gold foil makes the oversized commemorative document truly shine.

Proclamation Folder

Proclamation Folder

Proclamations are given to recipients in a substantial folder, formal in design and presentation. I adapted the seal design to a one-color version which we printed with gold foil stamping.

Flag Design

It was an honor to adapt the illustration used in the seal to create the first-ever flag produced for Ventura County.
